As spring break is fast approaching, it is easy to get caught up in the excitement of breaking free, spending time with friends, traveling and maybe having a little “fun” with alcohol or sexual activity.
However, Simpson’s counseling and health services want to make sure students have a safe and regret-free break and have provided tips and ideas to help.
As spring break draws near, many students are looking forward to being able to de-stress and relax with a week in the sun. RLC, however, will be sending out students more inclined to think about others on their break. RLC has planned five service trips to Washington, D.C., Denver, New Orleans, Corpus Christi, Texas and Toronto, Ontario.
The Music Department has been busy recruiting new students to the department through their annual trips around the area.
Both the Simpson College Symphonic Band and Jazz Band and the Simpson College Madrigal Singers recently went on tour in efforts to recruit future students to their programs at Simpson.
Everyone who has lived in Iowa has heard the saying, “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.” However, this saying doesn’t seem to apply this winter season.
As of Feb. 1, an average of 31 inches of snow had fallen across the state of Iowa. That is more than half of the 1961-1962 record average of 59 inches statewide.
