Spring Break
Two shows are set to hit campus this weekend. On Friday evening, students can see Tyler Hilton perform in a concert sponsored by CAB in the BSC. Theater Simpson will also present their fall musical, "A Year with Frog and Toad," throughout the weekend.
Several honor societies on campus have held inductions recently, honoring those students who have qualified to become a part of their respective groups. Organizations including Beta Beta Beta, Order of Omega and Omicron Delta Kappa have all welcomed new members in the last few weeks.
When you buy something at Wal-Mart and ask to get your change in quarters, people think you're nuts. They just don't understand. To them, quarters represent gumball machines and silly little trinkets. When you ask for quarters, they judge you. Only college students are able to comprehend the true value of the quarter.
At the same time each year, Dirlam Lounge in Smith Chapel becomes a market for goods from around the world. It is an opportunity for students and faculty to purchase crafts handmade by individual artisans RLC hosted the annual Ten Thousand Villages alternative gift market this week.
Any film that begins with a high-speed chase, blood and guns is sure to be an edge-of-the-seat experience. "Quantum of Solace," the new James Bond flick, takes a detour from the "Inspector Gadget" style of special agent thrillers and is instead jam-packed with testosterone driven entertainment.
