Cyd Dyer, college librarian and archivist, keeps everything on track in her hectic life. Dyer is president of the Indianola School Board. She's also a rotary youth exchange officer and serves on the advisory board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Warren County.
In the library, Dyer works with seven staff workers and 50 students. She specifically works everyday with faculty, budget and administration, and on top of everything, she's a Spanish student at Simpson. This schedule is just a glance of one of Dyer's work days.
7:30 a.m. - Works in her office, answers e-mails and phone messages
8:00 - Touches base with staff members
8:30 - Plans initial meeting with department liaisons
9:00 - Fills out library statistics survey
10:00 - Takes Spanish midterm
11:00 - Locates EPCC materials in college archives and check messages again
12 p.m. - Assists student in the reference areas and order library materials
1:00 - Eats lunch and does laundry
2:00 - Simpsonian interview
3:00 - John Byrd's "Break with the President" at the library with staff
4:15 - Reviews District Report Card at Indianola Schools Administrative Office
5:30 - Eats dinner with family
6:00 - Visitation at funeral home with family
7:30 - PEO book club discussion of "Before You Know Kindness" by Chris Bohjalian
10:00 - Watch tonight's recorded episode of "Lost"

It's usually best to make sure you know how to spell the person's name you are interviewing before you publish your story. CYD Dyer (my aunt) would probably appreciate it. (Continued…)
