Men's Basketball (5-14, 2-8 IIAC)

L 73-70 vs. Dubuque, Feb. 2: The Storm lost another close one at home on with a three-point loss to conference rival Dubuque. The Storm outscored the Spartans 35-30 in the second half but it wasn't quite enough. Nonetheless, several players still turned in strong performances; sophomore Tim Dunlavy notched 18 points and also grabbed 15 rebounds. Senior Matt Gilbert also turned in a good performance with 14 points, hitting two of four shots from beyond the arc.

Women's Basketball

(18-1, 10-0 IIAC)

W 99-76 vs. Dubuque, Feb. 2: The Storm women led by just 12 at halftime before pulling away late and winning by 23 points. Senior Ashley Katch turned in a stellar performance against the Spartans, logging the first triple double in school history. Katch scored 17 points, nabbed 11 rebounds and blocked 10 shots. Senior Katelyn Whiton led all scorers in the contest with 25 points, and pulled down 11 rebounds. Freshman Amy Hamilton contributed nine points, hitting all three of her attempts from the three point line.

Men's Track and Field

Hilltop Invitational @ Cornell College, Feb. 2: No team scores kept. Simpson placed 2nd in the distance medley relay with a time of 10:41.17. Sophomore Wardell Watkins placed 2nd in the long jump with a distance of 6.90 meters. Senior Robert Best placed 2nd in the shot put with a distance of 15.14 meters.

Women's Track and Field

Hilltop Invitational @ Cornell College, Feb. 2: No team scores kept. Senior Suzi Anderson finished 1st in the 400 meter dash with a time of 61.57 and the long jump with a distance of 5.05 meters. In the 800, Freshman Catie Ellingson took 1st with a 2:18.93. Simpson placed 1st with a time of 13:03.02 in the distance medley.
