Senior forward Katelyn Whiton has been selected as one of the top 10 finalists for the Josten's Trophy this year because of her performance on and off the basketball court this year. The Josten's Trophy is a national award honoring the most outstanding men's and women's Division III basketball players of the year.
The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track Meet took place the weekend of March 1 producing some exciting results for the Simpson team as well as individual Storm athletes, according to Dave Cleveland, head track and field coach. "It's exciting to have so much success with a young squad," Cleveland said.
The Simpson men's basketball team played a fundraiser game against Ruby Van Meter High School on March 7 at Roosevelt High School to help raise money for the Ruby Van Meter Parent Teacher Organization. Bruce Wilson, head men's basketball coach, said the game was set up mainly by him and his wife, who is involved with the PTO at Ruby Van Meter.
As students begin the second half of the semester, intramurals is preparing for one of its busiest times of the year--May Term. Intramurals offers a variety of regular league and one-day tournament activities for students in their final three weeks on campus.
